• An appealing interplay of glazed areas of color, calligraphic lines, omissions, and strong light-dark contrasts.
Fritz Winter's works were displayed at documenta I and III in Kassel as early as 1955 and 1964.
• As a leading representative of German Informel, he exhibited in the United States as early as the 1950s, including in several exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
• Today, his work is part of important museum collections, including the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York
.
