Signed and dated in the lower right. On structured wove paper. 52.5 x 66 cm (20.6 x 25.9 in), the full sheet. [EH].


• Bought directly from the artist by the Kosfeld collector couple 35 years ago and part of their extensive collection ever since.
• Dynamic work by one of the most important representatives of German Informel.
• The artist participated in documenta II, III, and 6 in Kassel in 1959, 1964, and 1977.
• Works by Emil Schumacher can be found in the collections of the Hamburger Kunsthalle, the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, and the Vatican Museums, among others
.

The work is registered in the Emil Schumacher Foundation archive under number 0/3.210 and will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné.

PROVENANCE: Collection of Hildegard and Ferdinand Kosfeld (acquired from the artist in 1995).

EXHIBITION: Emil Schumacher - Die Sammlung Hildegard und Ferdinand Kosfeld, Ketterer Kunst Berlin, December 18, 2020 - March 06, 2021.
