• Large-format paper work from the "tabuskri" (tabulae scriptae) group, which oscillates between painting and drawing.
• With his signature mesh of fine lines, Bernard Schultze creates an imaginative yet otherworldly cosm.
• At the time of its creation, the artist participated in the documenta in Kassel for the second time (1964).
• For the first time offered on the international auction market (source: artprice.com).
PROVENANCE: Galerie Orangerie-Reinz, Cologne.
Private collection Hesse (acquired from the above in 1990).
Good overall impression. With white wooden frame. The paper, mounted on canvas, is slightly browned and slightly wavy in the upper area. With various isolated stains, some of which are likely inherent in the work, as well as tiny spots of foxing. Small pinholes along the edges and in the corners. Superficial paper abrasion in the two upper corners.
