One of at least 5 known copies. n wove paper. Size of booklet: 21.3 x 16.3 cm (8.3 x 6.4 in). Folding wrapper, color woodcut in 3 parts 16,8 x 91,76,29 x 35,8 in).
This first retrospective, organized by the art association “Kunsthütte zu Chemnitz,” featured 100 paintings from the years 1906 to 1930. It was on display at the Municipal Museum on Theaterplatz in Chemnitz between 18 March and 30 April, 1931. The exhibition catalog is illustrated with original prints by Heckel from 1930. The left-hand side shows ‘Seiltänzer über der Stadt’, the center section shows the catalog jacket, and the right-hand side shows the four ‘Brücke’ artists and a female nude with two children. With woodcut flyleaf (lettering in block type: ‘Ausstellung / Kunst / Hütte / Erich Heckel / Chemnitz’). [MH/CH].

PROVENANCE: Hermann Gerlinger Collection, Würzburg (with the collector's stamp Lugt 6032).
