Hans (Jean) Arp is widely regarded as a key figure of the European avant-garde.
• Arp conveys the rhythm of nature in his biomorphic, lyrical formal language.
• In the year this work was created, Arp was awarded the Grand Prix National des Arts in Paris.
• Other drawings by Hans Arp can be found in important museum collections such as the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and the Centre Pompidou, Paris
