Ohne Titel. 1967.
Mixed media, oil and fire on cardboard.
Signed and dated in the bottom center. 24.1 x 18 cm (9.4 x 7 in), the full sheet. [AW].

• A very powerful and dynamic work from the early creative period of the great "ZERO" artist.
• A striking interplay of color and structure, guided by chance, in a concentrated format.
• In 1967, Piene experimented with color slides, a phase that led to his large-scale slide projection "Proliferation of the Sun" (premiered initially in New York with subsequent performances in Bochum and Düsseldorf).
• In hardly any other oeuvre has fire dominated artistic creation for decades as much as in Otto Piene's – it attained an iconographic status, as it did.
.

PROVENANCE: Private collection, Netherlands.

In good condition, with beautiful colors. Faint traces of craquelure along the right edge of the image. Slightly soiled in places.
For information concerning the condition, please view the high resolution image / backside image.
