Oil on canvas, in two parts.
Top center with the number “2371” carved into the wet paint. The "Nachtbild" signed on the reverse, the "Tagbild" signed and dated on the reverse. Each: 25 x 20 cm (9.8 x 7.8 in).

• From 1972, the artist regularly painted an empty water glass (in original size) on a white table surface in front of a light background.
• Night and Day Image with the number “2371” were created three years apart, in 2008 and 2011.
• Minimal differences indicate the time of day: one glass reflects a window (day), while the other reflects a reddish shimmer (night).
• Other works by the artist can be found in renowned museum collections, including the Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt a. Main, the Museum Frieder Burda, Baden-Baden, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
PROVENANCE: Private collection Baden-Württemberg.
Both in very good condition. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of a UV light source and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
