Zubi-Aundi. 1989.
Etching and aquatint.
Signed, numbered and with the artist's signet. One of 50 Greek numbered copies, from a total edition of 68 prints. On firm wove paper. 75.5 x 122 cm (29.7 x 48 in). Sheet ca. 160 x 122 cm (62,9 x 48 in).
Printed by Taller Hatz, San Sebastián. Published by Galería Theo, Madrid. [AR].

• Magnificent print with a relief-like character and an architectural reference: in Basque (the artist's mother tongue), Zubi-Aundi means “the big bridge”.
• An interplay of abstract forms, a reduction to black, and the paper's material quality make Chillida's graphic works highly appealing.
• His prints are in numerous international museum collections, such as the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Centre Pompidou, Paris, or the Museum Folkwang, Essen
.

PROVENANCE: Private collection Northern Germany.

LITERATURE: Dorothea und Martin van der Koelen, Eduardo Chillida. Opus Prints. Catálogo completo de la obra gráfica. Opus P. III: 1986-1996, Mainz 1996, no. 89011 (illustrated, different copy).

In good to very good condition. The paper is slightly wavy and with isolated tiny spots and small stains as well as isolated, faint crease marks.
For information concerning the condition, please view the high resolution image / backside image.
