Signed and dated in the lower right. Signed and dated, titled, with dimensions and numbered “50P” on the reverse of the canvas. With direction arrow, further dated, titled and numbered “50P” on the stretcher, as well as with an exhibition label. 96 x 100 cm (37.7 x 39.3 in).

• Greis, as a co-founder of the artists' group “Quadriga”, was one of the pioneers of German Art Informel.
• In the late 1950s, his examination of light and color led him to a glazed and floating expression.
• Greis presented his abstract and dynamic paintings at documenta II in 1959.

In good condition. Some minor dry cracks along the outer edges of the canvas. The edges of the painting consistently bordered with adhesive tape. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the aid of a UV light source and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
