Oil on fibreboard.
Signature and date scratched into the paint. Verso signed, dated and titled as well as inscribed "Holzminden" and with hand-written exhibition information. Stretcher with an address stamp and information on the technique. 66 x 86 cm (25.9 x 33.8 in).

• Rudolf Jahns' works move between figuration and geometric abstraction.
• He is considered a pioneer of German Constructivism.
• In 1927, he co-founded the artists' group "die abstrakten hannover" alongside Kurt Schwitters and Carl Buchheister, among others.
• From the early 1960s, his works were increasingly shown by art associations and museums in solo and group exhibitions and became known to a wider public

In good condition. With subtle craquelure and with small isolated flaked spots. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of an ultraviolet light and to the best of knowledge.
