• A typical detailed landscape watercolor with a panoramic view of the gently flowing Nahe river and the town of Bad Münster.
• Idyllic depictions of nature play an important role in Heckel's work.
• Heckel also painted this motif in oil in 1938
.

The watercolor is listed in the Erich Heckel Estate, Hemmenhofen on Lake Constance.

PROVENANCE: Private collection, Koblenz.
Southwestern German private collection (since 1988, directly from the aforementioned -2021).
Private collection, Lower Saxony (since 2021).

In good condition. Somewhat rubbed in places, more so in the margins due to framing. Smoothed creases and dents, mainly in the upper and lower image margins. The upper edge with a closed tear, there slightly retouched.
