• Max Beckmann's self-portraits are among the central themes of his oeuvre.
• The powerful lines and clarity of the composition lend the work emotional depth.
• In the years after World War I until about 1924, Beckmann devoted himself intensively to graphic art, producing only a few paintings.

In good condition. Slight mount staining and creasing. With isolated creases on the right side of the page and a horizontal crease along the top edge. With a few small brown spots and discolorations.
