• One of only eight known copies.
• The motif is taken from Ewald Mataré's relief panel “Dankspende des Deutschen Volkes für Schweden”, which is housed in a government building in Stockholm.
• In 1953, the artist was awarded the Grand Prize of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and had a solo exhibition at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg.

In good to very good condition. Small discolorations and a few weak spots and tiny scratches above the head in the area of the female figure. With a twisted wire running around the upper edge, probably original.
