Fischerboote. 1931.
Watercolor and gouache.

• The last paradise: Between 1927 and 1933, Pechstein spent the last carefree summers in Rowe, formerly Pomerania, before the tragic political changes that soon followed.
• Expression of a special attitude to life: In Rowe, Pechstein found great happiness in a simple, quiet and unspoilt life, and was also able to paint the local life without being disturbed by tourists.
• The artist creates a painting-like composition in extremely fresh and strong colors and with a cunningly cropped image detail.
• International success: In the year the work was created, several of the artist's works were included in the exhibition “German Painting and Sculpture” at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and in the “30th International Exhibition of Paintings” at the Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh
.

PROVENANCE: Private collection Southern Germany.
Ever since family-owned.
