Valerio Adami Valerio Adami - Biography

Valerio Adami is the Italian protagonist of Pop Art, which actually was a genuinely US-American tendency in art. A look at the comprehensive oeuvre of paintings and graphic art of Valerio Adami, who had studied art in Milan, clearly demonstrates his affiliation with this form of art: Among the subjects preferred by Valerio Adami are everyday objects, such as closets or swimming-pools, which he depicts in a comic-like manner, by separating the motifs into color fields with sharp black inner contours. This way he created extremely powerful and expressive works. Valerio Adami also attains an exaggeration of his works' Pop-Art aspect by adding abstract tendencies, thus taking his art to dream-like dimensions.
Works by the multiple documenta participant Valerio Adami are in renowned collections all over the world, for instance in the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris or in the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Bergamo.
