Sabine Herrmann
Sabine Herrmann counts among the main representatives of abstract art in Germany. Having been educated at the Academy of Art Berlin-Weißensee, she went to Italy, France, Japan or the USA on numerous scholarships, where she could gain fruitful experience that she worked up in her art. Paintings by Sabine Herrmann captivate the observer with their poised broad stroke of the brush, which entirely fills up the canvas. The palette of Sabine Herrmann ranges from monochrome paintings in gray, blue and red to delicate color compositions. It is the combination of acrylic paint and pigments that create appealing color effects. Despite a basic orientation with abstraction, her works at times show figurative notions that remind one of people, as the titles often suggest. The oeuvre of Sabine Herrmann, which has been honored extensively with numerous exhibitions and publications, is completed by drawings and graphic sheets, e.g. silkscreens in colors and lithographs.
