Jean Dufy
Jean Dufy occupies a special rank among the artists of the 20th century. At first Jean Dufy, the brother of the renowned painter Raoul Dufy, made a living in various professions, before he began to take on the lifestyle of an artist after he had permanently been occupied with art in an autodidactic manner. It was particularly the works by great masters such as Henri Matisse or Pablo Picasso that were influential for Jean Dufy, who would soon attain great recognition as painter and as cloth- and porcelain designer. Jean Dufy got to an own style in his paintings , lithographs in colors or gouaches, which are characterized by their merry and lucent coloring and a particularly delicate stroke of the brush.
