James Rizzi
The US-American painter, graphic artist, sculptor and commercial artist James Rizzi counts among the most popular representatives of "Neo Pop", a contemporary variant of Pop Art.
James Rizzi, often referred to as an "Urban Primitive Artist" by the press, created an unmistakable style: Comic-like figures in a joyful coloring inhibit his striking works in all genres with their naive merryness, childish optimism and simple humor and made sure that something like a world-wide James Rizzi fanclub became established. James Rizzi's "3D constructions" gained particular fame, in them he unites the genres graphic art and sculpting with three-dimensional effects. In 2010 the Bremen Fair and the Düsseldorf Galerie Popular Art organized a comprehensive retrospective under the title "Rizzis Welt: 60 Jahre James Rizzi".
