• Walter Stöhrer combines abstract forms with gestural painting, contrasting color fields and figurative accents in a unique way.
• Comparable works by the artist can be found in important museum collections, including the Folkwang Museum, Essen, the Städel Museum, Frankfurt/Main and the Berlinische Galerie, Berlin.
• In 1990, Stöhrer's works were shown in the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale as part of the “Ambiente Berlin” exhibition.
• In recent years, his work has been honored in, among other things, solo exhibitions at the Museum Wiesbaden, the Museum Küppersmühle in Duisburg, and the Kunsthalle Bremen.
