• A. R. Penck created a universal pictographic system to represent his world and his view of the world.
• His works are part of many important collections, including the MoMA, New York, the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, and the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich.
• Since 1972, A.R. Penck has featured in the Documenta several times, and in 1984 in the Venice Biennale. In 2007, the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt am Main hosted a major retrospective of his work.
