METRO-TRA/64. 1964.
Acrylic on canvas.
Signed, dated and titled on the reverse. 180 x 170 cm (70.8 x 66.9 in).
[AR].

• From the sought-after creative period of the 1960s.
• Georg Karl Pfahler was one of the first representatives of Hard-Edge painting in Europe.
• The clearly defined color areas are considered an unmistakable trademark of the artist.
• Offered for the first time on the international auction market (source: artprice.com).
• The artist's works are regularly represented in group and solo exhibitions at international galleries, as for example in 2025 in Basel, Constance, Madrid and New York
.

We are grateful to Mr. Florian Pfahler for his kind confirmation of the work's authenticity. It will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of paintings.

PROVENANCE: Private collection, Baden-Württemberg.

In good condition. In the upper, dark red color field, a few small brown spots and very isolated, barely noticeable craquelé and a faint, horizontal abrasion mark (approx. 10 cm). The white in the corners is irregular in places, but no retouches are visible and thus it is probably original. The edges in the white areas are minimally soiled. Overall, small brown color dots and studio marks in places, but all in all, this early work makes an extremely harmonious overall impression. The condition report was compiled in daylight and with the help of a UV light source to the best of our knowledge and belief.
For information concerning the condition, please view the high resolution image / backside image.
