• In the year of the work's creation, Blumenthal received a scholarship from the Kunstakademie in Kassel.
• Blumenthal's artistic work was honored in 2006 on the occasion of the artist's 100th birthday in the major exhibition “Sterngucker. Hermann Blumenthal und seine Zeit” at the Georg Kolbe Museum in Berlin.
