Signed and dated in the lower right. Once more signed and dated “X/1921” on the stretcher, as well as typographically numbered “536” on an adhesive label. 33.5 x 41 cm (13.1 x 16.1 in).

• One of his last post-impressionist landscapes that already foreshadowed his new, more Cubist phase.
• Painted in the area around Lake Chiemsee, possibly in Übersee/Feldwies, where he spent much time in 1921.
• Kanoldt's works are in the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich, the Museum of Fine Arts, Leipzig and the Staatliche Kunsthalle, Karlsruhe.
