• Velvety, powdery surface of great luminosity.
• From 1920 onwards, pastel chalk characterized Hölzel's oeuvre and impresses with the great luminosity.
• Other pastels from this period can be found in, among others, the Städel Museum, Frankfurt am Main, the Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig, Vienna, and the Sprengel Museum, Hanover.
