The English sculptor and graphic artist Henry Moore occupies one of the first ranks among the greatest artist of the 20th centuries.
His plastic oeuvre, which can be ascribed to biomorph abstraction, has a high recognition value. The simplified and rounded forms seem archetypal, they call reminiscence of archaic Greek and non-European tribal art, additionally, they show notions from contemporary artists such as Constantin Brancusi. Enlivened with ever new perspectives and hollow spaces, however, remaining monumental and elementary, the sculptures by Henry Moore are mostly dedicated to the (reclined) man. The impressive graphic oeuvre also has its focal point on man - the genre did not only have preparatory character for Henry Moore, it became an independent work complex in his oeuvre.
Alongside numerous exhibitions and honors, many public commissions and acquisitions are proof of Henry Moore's great recognition as an outstanding artist.
