Cornelius Völker
Cornelius Völker, born in 1965, counts among the innovative artists of a contemporary figuration.
In painting, watercolor, lithography and silkscreen Cornelius Völker created works that evoke an impression of almost photographically exact forms, virtuously executed with an effectfual and broad duct. In a strong coloring in front of mostly superficial or indifferent backgrounds, he creates series of various motifs, among them filled cocktail glasses, guns, lips, books, haircuts or charming hairy guinea pigs. Cornelius Völker, who studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under A.R. Penck and Dieter Krieg, has been teaching at the Kunstakademie Münster since 2005 and lives in Düsseldorf and New York.
The oeuvre of Cornelius Völker has already been honored with numerous one-man shows, such as the in the Danish Esbjerg-Kunstmuseum in 2010, in the Kunsthalle Lingen in 2004 and in the Edwin Scharff-Museum in Neu-Ulm in 2002.
