Simon Dittrich Simon Dittrich - Biography
Simon Dittrich counts among the most important representatives of German contemporary art. Simon Dittrich studied painting in Berlin and also completed his artistic education as a master student of Hann Trier. His early work is dominated by landscapes, animals and still life like arrangements, which are characterized by a cheerful coloring and clear lines that emphasize contours. Later works by Simon Dittrich, however, tend to a broader and expressive stroke of the brush, which keeps figurative notions despite its rather abstract tendency. Simon Dittrich has reduced his color palette in recent times to depict his preferred motif buildings. The figurative drawings and graphic prints by Simon Dittrich captivate the observer with their playful imagery, their delicate lines and colorful palette. Works by the Munich Secession artist Simon Dittrich, who was awarded, among others, the Villa-Romana-Prize in 1968, have been in the focus of numerous national and international exhibitions.
