Peter Ackermann
The German painter and graphic artist Peter Ackermann is regarded an important representative of figurative post-war art and of Fantastic Realism.
Peter Ackermann, who is active in different genres (mainly in etching and drawing, later also in painting and watercolors), gained acknowledgement particularly through his architecturally alienated subjects. Fantastic and mysterious city views, backyards, roof landscapes and buildings, often showing traces of decay and in a reduced style characterize the oeuvre of the gifted graphic artist Peter Ackermann, who has been teaching at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe since 1976 .
