Fritz Köthe counts among the most versatile German artist of the 20th century. After an apprenticeship as a painter, Fritz Köthe received well-founded training in graphic art in Leipzig and Berlin - a profession that he would pursue up until the late 1950s. Since the 1960s Fritz Köthe finally attained his own style in painting by depicting motifs in a manner that followed the style of Photorealism. His images seemed to have been torn out of the paper and applied to the image carrier.
